perhaps more often than not, a doodle isn't actually of anything! at least not anything recognisable. true doodling, done while your mind is half occupied with another task (such as a meeting or phone call), often results in a 'what the...?' moment when you suddenly 'wake up' and see what you've doodled. i love this idea that something subconscious has snuck out of your mind and may be trying to tell you something...
due to their sneaky nature, abstract doodles vary widely in their message and meaning. the trick to interpreting abstract doodles, rather than attempting to decipher literally what you've drawn, is to assess the overall 'mood' of the doodle including spacing, size, shape, style and stroke.
